BACK PAIN IS THE MOST COMMON AILMENT OF THE MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM. FROM THE COMMON FUNCTIONAL IMPINGEMENT - DUE TO OVERLOAD - TO SEVERE INTERVERTEBRAL DISLOCATIONS DISCS. CURRENTLY REPRESENT THE HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF EXPOSED
OF WORK-RELATED DISABILITIES. THIS IS A MAJOR SOCIO-ECONOMIC PROBLEM OF CIVILIZED SOCIETY. NOT EVERYONE WHO HAS BACK PAIN,
SEES A DOCTOR.
Anatomy of the spine
The spine represents the basic axis of our body. It enables the upright posture that is characteristic only of humans. It has a double-axial curvature, is connected to the skull at the top by the cephalic joints, at the bottom by the coccyx, and is connected to the pelvis by the sacroiliac joints. It is a functional unit, consisting of vertebrae which are elastically superimposed. They vary in shape and size in each stage according to their location and the degree of load. There are 7 cervical vertebrae, 12 thoracic vertebrae and 5 lumbar vertebrae. The vertebrae sit on top of each other and form a spinal canal between the vertebral body and the arches, protecting a very sensitive and vulnerable structure - the spinal cord. The vertebrae are connected to each other by intervertebral joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. The whole system provides great stability, mobility and flexibility of the spine.
The vertebrae separate the intervertebral discs. The intervertebral disc (disc) is made up of 70% water and is therefore very flexible and elastic. In the middle of the rigid ligamentous ring is a mucous core, which has the task of cushioning the surrounding pressure, overload and shocks. The core is able to deform and compress to a certain extent. When a certain limit is exceeded and a large overload occurs, the ligamentous ring is damaged. There is a prolapse of the nucleus into the spinal canal (technically a herniated disc) and the possibility of oppression of the nerve structures, usually the nerve root, leading from the spinal cord to the limb. Sometimes there is very severe pain, paralysis of the limb, and in the worst case, impaired emptying.
Cause of back pain
- acute overload (lifting loads)
- prolonged overloading with unilateral loads, asymmetrical loads
- muscular imbalance in obesity, muscle weakening from inactivity
- prolapse of the intervertebral disc (through injury, overloading)
- hypothermia (draughts, cold feet, whole body)
- consequence of viral disease, urinary system disease
- after injury, fracture of the vertebrae (also due to osteoporosis)
- metastases to the spine in cancer
- psychological stress (long-term, also acute stress)
- depression, general exhaustion of the organism
- other, sometimes serious, diseases accompanied by back pain
Manifestations of the disease
- pain in any area of the spine, from mild to severe to shooting pain
- impairment of normal mobility, sometimes even complete restriction of movement
- in the case of a prolapsed disc:
- pain often shoots into the limb
- in the worst cases, even manifestations of weakness of the limb
- development of non-infectious inflammation at the site of nerve root compression
- the appearance of pain on the other side or limb
- in extreme cases, impaired urination and sexual function
Classical treatment
First aid: Finding a doctor, practitioner, neurologist, orthopedist, rehabilitation doctor, who usually applies a spray, injection, prescribes medication. For back pain, drugs from the group of non-steroidal antirheumatic drugs, analgesics and muscle relaxants (myorelaxants) are used. However, the most important treatment is the active approach of the patient, targeted rehabilitation with exercises to strengthen the muscle corset, stretch the shortened muscle groups and strengthen the weakened ones. Physiotherapy is an essential part of the treatment of back pain, the physiotherapist will teach us how to treat the back and not to hurt ourselves. In cooperation with a doctor, mobilisation and manipulation therapy is also suitable, and acupuncture and acupressure also have a very good effect.
Back pain and Energy preparations
Energy products represent a very important option to solve the difficulties of clients who do not tolerate antirheumatic drugs, do not want conventional treatment and are interested in preventing the onset of problems. They are not usually used in the acute phase, but rather have a supportive and preventive function.
Main products
RENOL - harmonizes the pathway of the urinary system, to which the entire support system is energetically connected, thus it is sovereignly the most effective product for back pain. Dosage: 3 times a day 4 drops long term.
KING KONG - is administered in connection with the use of Renol during recovery and convalescence in a higher dose, ideally half an hour before rehabilitation exercises.
ARTRIN - is a very suitable supplement for topical use, treating painful areas, muscles, along the spine in the area of the bladder path, along the back of the lower limbs, Achilles tendon. Also over the kidney and bladder area. It is also suitable as a bath emulsion - In acute condition, apply hot foot baths with the addition of Artrine. Locally, the cream can be reapplied in the form of a wrap.
SKELETIN - is suitable for nourishing the intervertebral joints, tendons and ligaments, in a dose of 2-2-1 capsules daily for at least 1 month, or twice daily 1 capsule for 3 months.
Complementary products
FYTOMINERAL - supplements the need for minerals and trace elements, used in muscle cramps and for overall strengthening organism.
BALNEOL - is suitable for non-acute baths, in the acute stage total warm baths are not suitable. Dry heat is more suitable (thermophore), applied to painful areas to deeply warm the spine.
CYTOSAN - used as a wrap made from the contents of the capsules mixed with a few drops of water, CYTOSAN FOMENTUM GEL can also be used. Apply topically to the painful area, no longer than 20 minutes. Afterwards, wash it off and then apply Artrin.
If the pain shoots up the side of the lower limbs, Regalen and Protektin may be recommended, following the use of Renol and Artrine.
We will warn the client about the possible reverse reaction of the organism when using Energy products.
Prevention of back pain: properly guided exercises to strengthen the muscular corset, regular physical activity, exercises to compensate for muscle imbalances, avoiding excessive physical and mental stress, colds, static overload and, last but not least, adherence to a drinking regime.
On a psychological level, back pain alerts us to wrong attitudes towards the environment, people, work, life. To the degree of load and the amount of burdens we put on ourselves. Also feelings of fear, worry, dissatisfaction, exhaustion.
Stand straight in life, your back will be straight too!
