Ulcerovet, 150 g

A preparation containing standardized powder from the aerial parts of the Maytenus ilicifolia plant, which has beneficial effects in the treatment of gastric ulcers in horses. It protects the stomach lining from damage by reducing gastric acid secretion and stimulating prostaglandin production. Maytenus also has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.

Effects

• Reduces pain symptoms associated with gastric ulcers in horses.
• Anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects – protects the gastric mucosa by reducing hydrochloric acid production and stimulating prostaglandin production (formation of protective mucus).
• Reduces the number of bacteria involved in inflammatory responses, thus normalizing the stomach and intestinal microbiome.

Use

• Treatment of gastric ulcers in horses (reduces stomach acid secretion and stimulates prostaglandin production).
• During administration of painkillers or antibiotics.
• Preventively during stressful situations.
• When proton pump inhibitors are not effective enough.

Composition
100% standardized Maytenus ilicifolia powder

Recommended dosage
Daily dose for horses: 3–6 g.
Pour hot water over the powder and mix. Administer after cooling.
After three weeks of use, pause for one week.

Adverse effects and interactions
Does not cause side effects related to long-term changes in gastric juice pH, as occurs with proton pump inhibitors.

Store in a dry, dark place at 10–25 °C. Protect from frost. Minimum shelf life: see date on packaging.
