Description according to traditional Chinese medicine: This is a modification of the original traditional Chinese herbal mixture QING QI HUA TAN WAN, adjusted to meet today’s needs. The mixture is used primarily against cough with abundant expectoration of yellow mucus (usually viscous), in case of feeling of fullness and stretched chest, nausea, vomiting and in severe cases of painful flatulence, which occurs in case of acute or chronic bronchitis and asthma. This expectoration of yellow mucus typically occurs after an attack by external hot wind FENG RE, when the wind is already eliminated from the surface but mucus TAN survives inside and is combined with the previous abundance of inner burner and moisture SHI/RE. This condition often occurs after the use of Acylpyrin and similar antipyretic medicines which are acid and cold according to TCM – they are therefore successful against external wind FENG, but precipitate and transform the existing inner moisture SHI into phlegm TAN… Likewise, this herbal mixture can be used in case of an attack by hot dry wind FENG ZAO/RE, manifested as dry and painful throat, cough with expectoration of yellow mucus and acute, stabbing pain between the ribs. Another indication may be a condition in which the moisture and heat SHI/RE block the middle burner, which results in nausea, vomiting and sometimes insomnia and heart race. This herbal mixture also successfully mitigates smokers’ cough. Susceptibility to excessive phlegm TAN may be caused, according to Chinese medicine, by the consumption of greasy or sweet food, the mixture therefore also contains herbs supporting good digestion.

Optimally these tablets should be used with Beverage of Silver Wind (code 844) for a faster onset of the desired effect! In acute cases, these tablets should be used for 3 more days after all symptoms disappear.

In case of rhinitis these tablets can be suitably combined with Shaolin Oil (code 700), which is applied under the nose as needed. In case of allergic diseases it can be conveniently combined with the herbal mixture Seclusion of the Hermit Chang (code 114), which prevents harmful surface wind.
