Description according to traditional Chinese medicine: This is a modification of the original traditional Chinese herbal mixture TAO HONG SI WU WAN, adjusted to meet today’s needs. This herbal mixture is used in case of blood deficiency XUE XU along with blood stagnation YU XUE. It is particularly marked in women whose menstruation is accompanied by painful spasms before or in the first days of menstruation, shortened menstrual cycle, strong bleeding, possibly dark clots or sticky blood, brown “soiling” before menstruation or mild soiling after it, infertility, chronic vaginal discharge, in certain cases abdominal formations may also appear (fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, etc.). These symptoms are very typical for blood deficiency XUE XU with its stagnation, similarly to little water in the riverbed until the stream fully stops. The herbs in the mixture feed deficient blood XUE XU and at the same time dissolve its stagnation YU XUE – thus adjusting and harmonizing not only menstruation but also the entire organism.
