Description according to traditional Chinese medicine: This is a modification of the original traditional Chinese herbal mixture YI GUAN JIAN WAN, adjusted to meet today’s needs. Its composition depends on the famous sentence by Confucius: My journey contains one foundation (TAO) that connects everything and permeates everything… Through a better study of this herbal mixture and its name we can understand these relationships better because according to Chinese medicine the “liver contains the yin essence (blood), which is manifested through its yang functions”. We can imagine this condition as a shortage of oil in the engine (deficient yin of the liver and the kidneys GAN/SHEN YIN XU), which starts overheating after some time (heat or fire due to deficiency RE/HUO XU). This overheating results in further combustion and drying of the deficient oil, with gradual seizure of the engine (stagnating liver qi energy GAN QI ZHI). Or we can also imagine this condition as for example little water in the river (deficient yin YIN XU) which stops because of the weak water current (stagnating liver qi GAN QI ZHI) and after some time this block literally rots (turns into heat RE XU). Treatment according to Chinese medicine consists (primarily) in topping up water, so that the stagnating rot starts moving again naturally and spontaneously (secondarily), with renewed circulation and cooled heat. This is an ingenious herbal mixture as it influences several categories of diseases at the same time even though otherwise their treatment would be very difficult, almost impossible…
